| Capsicum annuum
|
Description Capsicum annuum 'Santiago's Fire' hails from Mexico, where? We are not sure as it has been planted at the nursery for many years. We named it Santiago's Fire because it is near the soil mixer and that is where Santiago works, so we like to call it his pepper! Chile Pequin is a great addition to any product line and garden. The foliage is very lush and will be adorned wit tiny little red peppers, about the size of a sunflower seed and will produce larger peppers with age. Don't let the size fool you though, this little guy will pack a powerful punch! The plant is tough as well. Our original plant is planted in gravel and gets little to no care. It comes back for us every year, well we will see about 2010 as we got down to 18°F!! Chile Pequin is not just good for looks or for spicin' things up, the birds like this little guy too. This Pepper will get up to about 3 foot with an equal spread at maturity. Great as a specimen, in containers or as a mass planting. Hardiness: USDA Zones
