Miscanthus sinensis 'Gracillimus'  - Maiden Grass

Description

Miscanthus is a group of ornamental grasses that make excellent perennials. They are clump forming plants with reed-like stems and leaves that are narrow and arch to the ground. The flower heads are puffy plumes that form in late summer to fall and make good cut or dried flowers. Most species are moderately frost hardy. Miscanthus sinensis 'Gracillimus' is one of the better known selections of Miscanthus spp . 'Gracillimus' has very fine, weeping foliage with a white midrib. Late in the fall this grass will bloom, flowers are creamy white and later deepen to a reddish color. The foliage colors to tan or bronze in the fall. Maiden Grass can reach 5-6 feet in height.
